The Cowlitz Indian Tribe likes sure bets. They made their permanent home in Clark County’s thriving Discovery Corridor along I-5. Then, they hit the jackpot recruiting Kara Fox-LaRose, who relocated from Connecticut to launch the world-class resort and casino.
Fox-Larose got the $510M gaming and 2,500-seat event facility rolling, thanks in part to self-funding a capacity-expanding interchange. Then came a fuel station, 2,700-stall parking garage, more cuisine choices and now Clark County’s first AAA Gold Diamond hotel, just the third in the 2.5-million metro area. Fox-LaRose was recently named a 2021 Woman of Influence by the Portland Business Journal.
“We love living here,” said Fox-LaRose. “This is a beautiful place. We appreciate the predictable warm and low-humidity summers as well as the mild winters. We’re looking forward to continued expansion.”
